After several days of protests over rising fuel prices, opposition parties protested in both Houses of Parliament on Wednesday,

demanding the abolition of the three central farm laws. The Congress also declined to consent to the government's request that Prime Minister Narendra Modi make a statement in the Lok Sabha about the government's plans to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's independence on March 12th.

The ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav' celebrations will begin on Friday, according to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, who also demanded that members uphold decorum so that the Prime Minister can make a statement in the House. Despite the fact that both sides agreed, Congress members continued to protest the farm laws. The Parliament was then adjourned until March 15th.
